Frequently asked questions

No. Cadra TV is a player, like VLC. It does not contain, host or sell any content. You use it with your own sources: an M3U playlist, an Xtream Codes account or an XMLTV guide provided by your subscription.

Yes. No subscription, no ads, no paid features, no account required.

Yes. Cadra TV follows the language of your device: French if your device is in French, English otherwise. You can also choose the language in the app settings. The sign-in email is still in French for now.

For now, the app is distributed directly from this site; an Amazon Appstore version is on its way. Installing with Downloader takes five minutes: see the Fire TV guide.

Check the spelling of the address and the Fire TV's Internet connection. If the installation is blocked, make sure Downloader is allowed in Developer Options → Install unknown apps.

On recent Fire TVs, it is hidden. Go to Settings → My Fire TV → About and press the device name seven times.

This is the SmartScreen warning, normal for a recent app without a commercial signature. Click More info → Run anyway. Details are on the Windows page.

To find your sources, favorites and playback progress on all your devices: TV, computer, and the cadra.tv/compte page to manage your sources with a keyboard. It is free and optional.

In Cadra TV: Settings → Cadra Account → Link this device on the TV, or Link my Cadra Account on first launch on Windows. A QR code appears: scan it with your phone, signed in to your account, and confirm. To remove a device: cadra.tv/compte → My devices.

It encrypts your data. You only need it to unlock a new browser; your TVs and computers link with a QR code. Keep it in a password manager and never share it with anyone, not even us: we will never ask you for it. If it may have been seen, replace it in My account → Security.

If a browser is still unlocked (“Remember this device” box), open My account there and choose Change my recovery phrase. Your TVs and computers that are already linked also keep working normally. If you no longer have any unlocked browser, your synced data cannot be read, even by us: delete your account (My account → Security → Delete my account), create a new one, then enter your sources again.

In My account → Security → Delete my account, then type your address again to confirm. Everything is erased from our servers immediately and permanently. What is already saved on your devices stays there, but no longer syncs.

Use the backup code shown when the Kids profile was created. That is why you should write it down at that moment.

They need a free MDBList key. On Windows: Settings → Features, then Test key. On the TV, the easiest way is through your account. With a Cadra Account, enter it once at cadra.tv/compte: it reaches all your devices.

Cadra TV checks for a new version itself when it starts and offers to install it in one click. Your sources, favorites and history are kept. On Fire TV, just confirm with Install when the installation screen appears.

Download the installer at cadra.tv/telecharger and reinstall: your settings and library are kept. This problem came from version 0.6.0 and has been fixed since 0.7.0: later updates wait for the app to close.

Cadra TV gets the guide from your source on its own. On Windows, in Live TV, click Download next to TV guide. If it stays empty, your provider does not publish a guide. Loading a large guide for the first time can take a minute.

Most of the time, the channel is offline at the provider. Try it in another player, such as VLC: if it doesn't work there either, contact your provider.

Without an account, everything stays on your device. With a Cadra Account, your sources, favorites and progress are encrypted on your device before being synced: we cannot read them. See the privacy policy.

Yes. Boréal TV has been called Cadra TV since version 2.0. It is the same app, with a new name.
